Two Precious Beagle Pups Get Names Finally
Back in June the MPI ( Ministry Primary Industries) of New Zealand needed two names(one boy and one girl) for the latest Beagle puppies they have bred for special services in “bio security” being that Beagles have super powerful smell receptors. and asked the public to suggest names starting with “F” The MPI has been breeding Beagles for some time and name each litter alphabetically.

The Two Baby Beagles Now Have New Names

These Two Beautiful Beagles names are now “Fritz” and “Fudge“
The public have spoken and two of the Ministry of Primary Industries’ newest beagles will be named Fudge and Fritz. The Ministry asked for help in naming some of its “F litter” with the only condition the dogs’ monikers had to start with the letter F. Among the rejected, though “interesting” entries for names were Freedom, Ford, Fiat, Finda, Flopsy, Ferbert and FIFA…
MPI detection technology manager Brett Hickman says Fudge, the name for the female puppy, and Fritz, were popular choices among the names submitted.
Helpfully, the names are “short and easy to remember”, he says.
The naming competition drew 2500 entries, which surprised the ministry.
These Beagles will be off to foster families to be raised and later trained to help protect from bio hazards and other wonderful things that our super Beagles can do. Thanks to all our friends for making such awesome suggestions for our own personal fun and entertainment.
